It also isn’t hard to stick to, unless you make it hard to stick to.
Things that make meal prepping hard:
Staying on social media/texting while you’re trying to prep
Trying to make different recipes
Prepping salad when you don’t even like salad. (This goes for any type of healthy food that you don’t like)
Not prepping enough food
Telling yourself you don’t like the same veggies you blacklisted when you were 5... getttta grip, try cooking those veggies differently, and try again.
Forgetting that prepping snacks is important too
Thing that make it easy:
Go unplugged. You CAN clock out of social media + texting time for an hour. No one needs you that badly.
Or, put on a podcast (a chance to learn something new without having to sit down with a book) or put on a playlist that helps you de-stress and enjoy your time in the kitchen.
Play the game of 2s. Picking two lean, high quality meats for the week.
Picking your favorite potato, and your favorite rice for the week. Don’t like sweet potatoes or brown rice? That's okay. Prep yourself some red skin potatoes and jasmine rice.
Pick 2 different greens that you know you’ll eat.
Pick snacks that you can easily prep/grab on the go. Your favorite kind of nuts and a few fruits. You can prep out some crackers/pretzels/trail mix in individual sandwich bags to save you the last-minute hassle when running out the door.
KEEP IT SIMPLE. Grab a few sauces to keep those boring-simple-healthy-whole-foods something you can stomach over and over again. Don’t drown it in bbq sauce... but yea, put bbq sauce on that chicken.
If you haven’t noticed: if you don’t enjoy your healthier food choices OR your exercising, you’re not going to stick to it for any extended period of time. Besides... We wouldn't either if we were eating egg whites and salad on the reg!
